Low Voltage Power Supply for Radio and Plasma Waves Investigation (RPWI) instrument, ESA JUICE

  • Original language description

Jupiter Icy Moon Explorer also known as JUICE has been selected as a one of three so called L-class of satellite missions out of the long-term plan of European Space Agency - Cosmic Vision 2015-2025. JUICE mission aims to study the environment of Jovian moons Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. The aim of the work is to design, analyze, test and deliver the Low Voltage Power Supply unit as a contribution to one of the 11 scientific instrument packages aboard the JUICE mission. Radio and Plasma Wave Investigation instrument (RPWI), a multi-national scientific consortia led by the swedish Institute of Space Physics in Uppsala (IRFU) is a customer to proposed Low Voltage Power Supply. The aim of the RPWI instrument is to analyze spectra, amplitudes, incoming directions (vectors) and signal envelopes of the up-to-date unstudied magnetic and electric fields, waves and random events in the region of Jupiter, the planet with the second most strongest magnetic field in the Solar system.
