Original language description

This paper summarizes new EU and Czech environmental legislation such as revised EU ETS, revised LCP BREF, Air Protection act and Water Act and their impacts on production in large combined heat and power plants. Economic model shows that there will be a significant increase in heat prices especially because of the implementation of new CO2 emission targets and emission limits derived from BREF revision. The main problem of large heat producers in this respect is loss of competitiveness on the heat market caused by emerging stricter environmental legislation, which is not applied on competitors on the heat market (smaller heat sources).
