Original language description
The paper describes fundamentals of the magnetic levitation technology. A general background of the magnetic levitation is given, followed by its applications, comparison with other types of technologies, the current stage of its development, etc. Further, two main types of magnetically levitated systems, within their subgroups, are compared, in general and details characteristic basis. A comparison between the AC and DC power supplies for these systems, including the pros and cons of each type, is also provided in the paper.
