New Compensation Ferrometer Design
Original language description
The compensation ferrometers for measurement of open specimen soft magnetic materials properties at AC magnetization requires effective magnetizing process control. Recently, the new magnetizing process regulator was developed. The regulator controls both conditions that must be fulfilled during measurement. The voltage induced in measuring winding must be sinusoidal, and the voltage induced in Rogowski-Chattock potentiometer must be zero. The advantage of the regulator is control of both conditions as one task. It uses the state feedback that requires outputs calculation on a sample basis. These quick calculations are impossible on current compensation ferrometer KF9a with the old design. New platform selected for the regulator realization and compensation ferrometer core is STEMLab 125-14 (originally Red Pitaya v1.1). The STEMLab is a credit card sized SoC based open source development DAQ platform. It is equipped by Xilinx Zynq 7010 SoC (combination of FPGA and dual core ARM Cortex A9). It has two analog inputs and two analog outputs with 14-bit resolution and 125 MHz sampling frequency. New measurement electronic design with parameters suitable for the regulator is also required. The new electronic will not contain any feedback for magnetizing process control. All control functionality in implemented in FPGA. Therefore the new electronic will be simpler the old electronic. The UI for compensation ferrometer is a web page for a modern web browser. The ferrometer support Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. Application for measurement is the module of Nginx web server. All results are computed by the STEMLab processor. Used operation system is Ubuntu.
