Numerical analysis of microwave tomography system for brain stroke detection
Original language description
In this paper numerical analysis of a microwave tomography system for brain stroke detection is presented. This system is composed from octagonal container filled with liquid phantom having the average dielectric parameters of human head. On the walls of the container, there are eight slot bow tie antennas. This system was numerical modelled and evaluated. According to the analysis, modification in physical realization of the system can be considered and should lead to a better design of the future version. The analysis includes observation of distribution of E field inside of the container, evaluation of S parameter matrix and response of the system to a presence of a phantom of haemorrhagic stroke. Image reconstruction algorithm is finally applied on the S parameter matrix and the results of reconstruction are presented.
