    The goal of this paper is to model and to optimize a new Y-branch waveguide shape. For this purpose, we used a new Y-branch shape for 1x32 Y-branch splitter possessing better splitting properties, i.e. lower insertion loss, background noise or non-uniformity, compared to a conventional Y-branch splitter used in access networks, such as GPON and XG-PON by ITU-T. By optimizing this structure, the splitting properties could be improved by more than twice.
