On the importance of dropout for Checkerboard D–GEX architectures
Original language description
The L1000 platform for measuring gene expression have lowered the cost by measuring only ~1, 000 genes and then using computational approaches for reconstruction of the full profile. One of such computational approaches is the neural network D–GEX and its extension with transformative adaptive functions and checkerboard architecture. We have evaluated the influence of the dropout rate on the extended D–GEX architecture and have shown that statistically significant improvements were obtained when using dropout rate of 15% instead of the 25% that was originally used — the achieved error was 0.1278.
