Compact dual-band bandpass filter using a modified hexagonal split ring resonator
Original language description
In this article, a compact dual-band bandpass filter (BPF) is studied and designed by utilizing a modified hexagonal split ring resonator (H-SRR). The modified H-SRR consists of a classical H-SRR loaded by an open-stepped impedance stub and a grounding via located at the symmetrical plane of the resonator. The proposed BPF operates at 2.5 and 4.83 GHz. Its advantages include simplicity of design, high rejection level due to transmission zeros, and low insertion loss. In addition, the size of the circuit occupies only 142.6 mm(2). A good agreement is obtained between measurement and simulation results.
