What can photographic plate archives contribute to modern astrophysics?
Original language description
The potential of world's astronomical photographics archives for modern astronomy and astrophysics is presented and discussed. It is obvious that astronomical photographics data archives still represent valuable data source for astrophysics, and in addition to that, provide valuable historical and cultural heritage. I also discuss the recent status of astronomical photographics archives worldwide with emphasis on digitization efforts.
