A Numerical Model for DC Partial Discharges in Internal Voids

  • Original language description

he paper focuses on partial discharges in high-voltage insulation systems under DC voltage stress. With the increasing the number of high-voltage DC systems installations, the importance of research on the properties of insulation systems at voltages other than the industrial frequency voltage is increasing. At DC voltages, the PSA method is often used to detect and identify the type of partial discharges. Numerical models can be used to study PSA patterns of partial discharges, considering the physical processes, statistical behavior, and memory effect of partial discharges. The proposed numerical model allows simulation of the influence of the parameters of internal partial discharges in the insulation system on the patterns obtained by the PSA method.
