Military Chemical Institute in 1919-1939
Original language description
This poster deals with the Military Chemical Institute in 1919-1939.The forerunner of the Military Chemical Institute was the Gas Service Bureau, which was established in 1919. It was intended to research and preserve battle gases Another duty of the Gas Service Bureau was to test gas masks. In 1925, the name of the Gas Service Institute was changed; it was to be renamed the Military Chemical Institute. At the Military Chemical Institute, testing of gas masks was carried out in the gas chamber of the Institute. First, smoke was used to test the tightness of gas masks, then ammonia. A special gas chamber was built for ammonia testing. The Military Chemical Institute also tested gas masks already distributed to Czechoslovak army units every five years. The poster also highlights the problems with natural disasters in the 1930s.
