  • Original language description

This article explores the central role of computerization in education in Tunisia (1985-2005). Despite existing literature on the Tunisian educational system and industrial computerization, there is a lack of studies specifically focusing on engineers in the country in the field of computer science. Hence, this article provides new information using available local and national archives, as well as historical and computer literature. The article examines the integration of information technologies in education in Tunisia and its impact on widening access to learning, thereby promoting the development of skilled and competitive workers essential for the country's advancement. By tracing the historical evolution of computer education in Tunisia, the article highlights important milestones, including the contributions of computer pioneers in Tunisia such as Farouk Kamoun and Mokhtar Latiri. It analyzes the position of notable engineers trained between 1985 and 2000.
