Original language description
Efficiency of inductive power transfer (IPT) systems is significantly affected by the coupling between the transfer coils. The paper presents a novel coupling estimation method for IPT systems LCC-S and double LCC compensations. The method gains the coupling estimate by evaluating the frequency response of input current amplitude in bifurcation. The paper presents the theoretical background of the method, estimation procedure designed to limit the measurement current and its verification by PLECS simulations and experimental prototype. The preliminary simulation results show a very small estimation error of 0.53 % and 0.75 % for k in range from 0.038 to 0.7 for LCC-S and double LCC.
