Sound quality metrics for evaluating the sound of the fuel supply modules
Original language description
Sound quality metrics are widely used to evaluate various types of product sounds. Objective psychoacoustic metrics are also commonly used in the automotive industry, such as loudness, roughness, sharpness and fluctuation strength. These metrics were developed based on research into human perception and describe how a particular sound is perceived from the perspective of a certain sound property. Another way of evaluating is to conduct subjective testing ("jury tests"), where specific sounds are played to human listeners, who then assign their ratings to the perceived sounds. The relationship between subjective and objective evaluations can then be used to develop specific sound quality metrics that can be used for specific product sound assessment. In this case, the selected product is a common automotive component – fuel supply module (FSM).
