Original language description
We increase power-handling capabilities of hollow-core to solid-core fiber connection by expanding the mode-field size at the solid-core to air interface. Using a combination of short segments of coreless and graded-index fibers, we achieve low-loss (<0.2 dB) while expanding the beam to 50μ m.
