A Proof-Of-Concept System for Monitoring Stress in Clinical and Real-World Settings

  • Original language description

Stress is a common aspect of daily life, and when left unmanaged, it can contribute to a range of health problems. The ability to monitor and distinguish stress is key in preventing health issues and making our lives easier. Currently intended for clinical use, this paper proposes a low-cost, yet precise device and accompanying application designed to monitor stress. In addition to this, the device is evaluated on a subject exposed to states of rest and stress induced by a multiplayer computer game. The results of these measurements validate the device’s stress-identifying capabilities. Finally, the study discusses potential improvements to enhance the system’s applicability in real-world settings.
