Original language description
In this paper, an extension to complex-valued self-organizing map is presented. It uses amplitude and phase of complex numbers instead of real and imaginary part. This adjustment requires new methods to find best matching unit and to update neuron weights. Both methods are presented in this paper as well as tested on artificial data of hand-written characters.
