Anatomy of a Propositionalization Algorithm
Original language description
Propositionalization algorithms transform relational data into a form of a single table with features, which can be used for classifi- cation or regression with conventional machine learning tools. This literature review proposes a decomposition of a propositionalization algorithm into 7 well defined building blocks. The decomposition is applied to 15 algorithms taken from literature. All of the ex- amined algorithms fit the proposed decomposition framework. The framework can be used to build a library of propositionalization algorithms without writing redundant, to develop new algorithms or simple as a mean of understanding differences between different implementations of propositionalization algorithms.
