Segmentation of Multi-Spectral Images Using a Combined Classifier Approach
Original language description
Analysis of multi-spectral data requires new image segmentiation methods using both available domains-spatial and spectral. The paper presents a new approach for the multi-spectral image segmentation based completely on statistical pattern recognition methods. The method combines results obtained in the spatial and spectral domains by combined classifier approach. The algorithm performance is investigated on the multi-spectral images of detergent powders acquired by the method of scanning electron microscopy. A method for the segmentation of images with a similar spectral structure is devised. The stability and quality of the segmentation result is also discussed.
