Original language description
The new laboratory exercise Melting and solidification of tin as a part of Physics laboratories is briefly described in this paper. The measuring equipment consists of oven with automatic heating up to 320 °C allowing to measure melting and solidifications curves of tin. Temperature will be measured with thermocouple using Cobra measurement unit and students will process measured data on computer. They have to confirm that the oven power is constant from the first linear part of heating curve, find themelting point and compare heating and cooling curves in order to find differences reflecting cooling rate. Manual and photos of measuring equipment of this exercise, as well as all exercises in laboratories, are presented on our web pages. Therefore, students can study prior to classes and recognize measuring devices and, particularly, get to know how to use it correctly.
