Special emphasis is placed in transportation studies on preparedness procedures for crises (natural disasters as well as so-called CBR-N or WMD emergencies), in the sense of psychological support for mental health; the support procedures include trainingprofessionals in the basic methods of Critical Incident Stress Management, in order to train personnel (professionals and civilians) able to "decontaminate stress" in times of crisis. Training with the use of simulation models is very important in the framework of Preparedness, in a way similar to systematic approaches in the framework of education in Crisis Management.

V dopravních studiích se zvlášť zdůrazňují procedury připravenosti na krizové stavy , které zahrnují výcvik profesionálů v základních metodách CISM. Výcvik s použitím simulačních modelů je velmi důležitý v rámci připravenosti, způsob je podobný systematickým postupům v rámci vzdělávání v krizovém řízení.
