Original language description
This contribution aims at outlining the impact of transport on environment. The article mainly focuses on sustainable development indicators and transport. At the beginning of this paper the historical context of the transport and sustainable developmentindicators is mentioned. Second part of this contribution concerns sustainable transportation issues. This part presents sustainable transport indicators framework and principles for their selecting. Last but not least sustainable development and sustainable development indicators applied in Czech Republic are mentioned. Besides other things the Team Initiative for Local Sustainable Development (TIMUR) is mentioned, that was established in 2002, in the framework of the platform for introducing the setof the Common European Indicators. This paper is focused on the sustainable transport indicators used in the Czech Republic and their comparison with indicators used in foreign countries.
