Philosophical Conception of Probability in the Work of T. G. Masaryk and K. Voroka
Original language description
The paper is devoted to philosophical conception of probability in the work of two inventive Czech thinkers who are well-known in a quite different context: T. G. Masaryk and K. Vorovka. Masaryk dealt with probability in his inaugural lecture at the Philosophical Faculty of the Prague university in 1882, which was published as a separate booklet one year later, and he belonged to enthusiastic proponents of logical interpretation of probability. Vorovka dealt with probability and its philosophical meaning in several treatises published in the years 1912-1925, and contrary to Masaryk, he belonged to critics of both logical and subjective interpretations.
