Elderly drivers vs. IVIS and ADAS - Results from a set of driving simulator studies
Original language description
The paper presents results from measurements focused on use of IVIS (especially in-car navigation systems) by elderly drivers. The whole set of analysis presented in the paper covers the outputs from the series of eight experiment sets each performed on25 tested drivers (elderly drivers and a control group). Besides subjective measures, mainly objective ones were analyzed - reaction times - and were considered. In this paper the results of analysis of outputs from the set of the simulator experiments described above are shown. From the results it is possible to derive parameters of such devices which should fit the elderly driver population best in means of safe manipulation during driving.
