Application of a Model of Mixture Distribution for Departure of Vehicles from a Light-Controlled Intersection

  • Original language description

Departure models deal with departure of vehicles from the entrance space. They help us determine what time a particular vehicle in a queue needs to cross the STOP line. The models hitherto used are not very accurate. The author tries to fill this gap bycreating a significantly more accurate model, which could be used to manage traffic on a light-controlled intersection. On the following pages, the author introduces a new approach to a departure model. It should be universally applicable on any intersection or for any traffic situation, eliminating the need to create a specific model for each individual intersection. The author proposes a set of models, from which the most suitable model would be chosen for a given situation. In order to find such a complex solution, it will be necessary to create a mathematical model, proceeding from a special type of multidimensional regression model. It would be further expanded to a model of mixture distribution and its estimation, where each compo
