Main goal of air transportation industry is transportation of passengers and freight (Cargo). IT and logistics in air transportation industry are on the very high level and could be an example for the other applications of IT in logistics especially in Supply Chain Management (SCM). The essential IT systems for airlines and airports are described. In the airport the Safety & Security with top IT applications are playing very important role. In this matter research and education on university´s level arevery important. Some experiences from the ATLANTIS EU - U.S. program are presented.
