Quality and quantity improvement for current RDS-TMC
Original language description
The main objective of this paper is to present a project that aims to increase quality and capacity of existing legacy systems based on RDS-TMC and to discuss how it can be achieved and what the potential increase is. For this, we will adapt withdrawn standard ALERT Plus, that is optimized for delivery of status oriented traffic information with lower latency. We will describe how it can be implemented in coexistence with standard ALERT-C service on the same broadcast channel, with the same data (i.e. location tables) and show potential benefits of such service in environments with lots of traffic flow messages. At the end of the paper argue the business case for such system to show that this improvement has a potential.
