Original language description
The transport system has a strong relation to life quality and above all to the problems of the environment. Its externalities have been handled above all in the long term or more precisely the question of the implied external costs. At the same time itis necessary to pay attention to the positive externalities like the contribution of transport as the key infrastructure industry to the growth of the economic standard. From this viewpoint the economic science concentrates on the research of the gross domestic product and the environmental damage. This relation is known as the environmental Kuznets curve that was first time researched by the economists Grossman and Krueger. It states that the environment improves with the increasing wealth of a country, measured by its GDP, because it is economic to use cleaner technologies from a certain life standard level.
