FIRST PRACTICAL RESULTS IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RESEARCH PROJECT CONFIGURATION THE IFIT-NODES IN THE CZECH RAIL NETWORK
Original language description
In the long-distance rail transport in the Czech Republic in recent years has been introduced the fixed interval timetable. Usually they are hour- or two-hour period cycles, while in heavily used sections with interlacing lines can be found even 30-minute period cycle. The fixed interval timetable is implemented on the existing infrastructure, which in large part does not satisfy the competitive travel speed and power characteristics of a network transport system. The research and development project "Configuration the IFIT-nodes in the Czech rail network" carried out during 2007-2010 was to determine the infrastructure parameters compliant with the introduction of integrated fixed interval timetable (IFIT).
