    The need for process optimization in air transport, due to its volume and growth, is still current. In order to ensure smooth operations of air transport, it is necessary to follow the flight schedules and eliminate flight delays. Continuous and smooth technical aircraft handling contributes to these objectives. The aim of research was to optimize ground support equipment utilization in aircraft ground handling in time for smaller regional airports. The result of research is mathematical model of ground support equipment utilization. It is applicable to a computer program and enables planning and operational management of aircraft ground handling. The model is adaptable for the needs of a particular airport by changing the input parameters.
