Comprehensive Safety Evaluation of the Intersection Osvoboditelů in Žatec
Original language description
Paper presents a comprehensive safety evaluation at four-approach intersection of streets Plzeňská (I/27) and Osvoboditelů (II/250) in Žatec. The study is divided into several parts where the first consists of a transport-engineering assessment which helps to characterise the current traffic situation. Secondly, a statistical evaluation of traffic accidents and survey of traffic conflicts are performed. The assessment is then accompanied by a safety inspection which identifies the particular traffic safety deficits and discus remedial measures. Lastly, a limited traffic safety audit over the project documentation of suggested reconstruction is carried out.
