The Economics of Using Biofuels in Transport
Original language description
The usage of biofuels in transport has become an increasingly frequently discussed topic. This article is therefore focused mainly on the comparison of their usage when compared with diesel, using real data from traffic. For this purpose a methodology is created, which takes into account not only the expenses on propellants, but it also includes the expenses that are different once biofuels are used (mostly maintenance and repairs expenses). This methodology is further applicable to other alternative fuels. The article is also concerned with other circumstances of the production and usage of biofuels, mainly their cost development, and the social and energetic efficiency of their usage, which is monitored for example using the indicator of the so called rate of return of energy.
