TEST - Traction energy savings in transportations
Original language description
Energy costs impact directly or indirectly economic balance of urban transport. There are not only economical influences, but also other - amount of energy consumption affects the world from energetic or ecological side. It is around 30 percents in economical sheet of urban transport companies. Due to this fact it is very important to look for possibilities of savings. Nowadays there is a strong social demand for sustainable transportation; development and producing of system and subsystems of (mainly rail transportation as backbone) transportation and to become a pillar of sustainable multimodal mobility as a carrier. Actually, current trends are mainly the following: decarbonisation of mobility (to relieve the transport of fossil fuel dependence), mobility without emissions (to eliminate such type of transports which have unfavorable influence on life environment), less hard work transport (replacement of routine human labor by machines) and other trends not directly related with the issues this article focuses on. The energy resources exhaustibility as well as the increased ecological load that is inseparably connected with energy consumption represents a very important social issue. A solution of the environmental load problem is acute particularly in densely populated urban areas. It is therefore advisable to pay an attention to the energy consumption issue and its rationalization. The means of this rationalization effort are the knowledge of all relevant decisive factors specific to the transport system, respectively for its organic part and for its particular transport technological conditions. A simulation of the specific operations and technical and technological situations represents a tool for the detection of relevant connections and their quantification. A method of investigation of alternative cases is appropriate for purposes of an analysis and subsequent rationalization of decision-making processes.
