Original language description
This academic year was the third year of the cooperation between Faculty of Transportation Sciences and Faculty of Architecture, CTU in Prague. Both architects and transport engineers are involved in the creation of public spaces. Individual professions have various points of view and their demands differ as well. These can be incompatible – for instance a fluent traffic flow versus an aesthetic value. Mentioned contradictions can be overcome only by a compromise that is based on the dialogue and cooperation. Unfortunately, in the real world the situation is not that easy and the dialogue does not take place as often as it could. Therefore, the cooperation between transport engineers and architects at the university level begun. Students, grouped into mixed teams, solve practical problems. The results represent a design of public spaces with a sense of aesthetics and habitat, which at the same time match their actual needs for transportation. This experience prepares students for future problems and promises high-quality projects for public spaces.
