Optimizing the Operation of Portable Traffic Monitoring Devices Using Photovoltaic Panels for Sustainability and Efficiency

  • Original language description

The aim of the study was to investigate the possibilities of extending the operation of portable devices designed to monitor road traffic during short-term measurements, while keeping handling and installation simple. Of interest were the specific possibilities of using photovoltaic (PV) panels to extend the operation of measuring devices. The use of solar energy is assumed to achieve a significant extension of device operation by up to 50 %. The methodology of the study involves the interconnection of photovoltaic panels in conjunction with portable devices to achieve sufficient power to extend the operating time. In real operation, the efficiency of photovoltaic panels was evaluated by focusing on analytical procedures. The results of the study can provide advances in road traffic monitoring and offer practical solutions for the efficient and sustainable operation of portable devices.
