    Formation of Nuclei of a New Phase from Supersaturated Mother Phase

    Aim of this work is to introduce basic models in nucleation theory (unary nucleation, binary nucleation, homogeneous nucleation, heterogeneous nucleation, nucleation at active centers) at various systems (vapor-liquid, vapor-solid, liquid-solid transitions). We concentrate on kinetics of formation of a new phase. Numerical (resp. analytical) solution of basic kinetic equations enable us to obtain basic characteristics of the process of formation of nuclei of a new phase, such as nucleation rate (i. e.,total number of nuclei formed in unit volume per unit time), time delay of nucleation process and the total number of nuclei. Results of our computations are compared with experimental data for the case of formation of crystalline phase from supersaturated mother phase (supersaturated vapor, or solution)
