Radiation Dechlorination of Tetrachloromethane in Various Types of Water

Original language description

Three various waters (distilled-; well-, river-water) artificially polluted with tetrachloromethane were irradiated with accelerated electrons. The concentrations of tetrachloromethane decreased and the Cl--ions concentrations increased with the dose ofirradiation. The determination of the degrees of dechlorination ? as well as of radiation chemical yields G led to the conclusion that the pollutants present in a natural water, namely the NO3- - ions, affect negatively the radiation dechlorination of tetrachloromethane
