    The phase velocity dispersion of the Rayleigh waves on surfaces of GaAs crystal having different roughness has been measured by laser-acoustic equipment. Applied model of a rough film explained the effect of surface roughness on the acoustic wave phase velocity showing good coincidence with the experimental data.
