Laserové plazma je modelováno ALE hydrodynamikou se zahrnutím tepelné vodivosti a absorbce laseru. Simulace nárazu laserem ablativně urychleného disku do pevného terčíku, pro kterou standardní Lagrangeovská metoda selže, dává ALE metodou dobré výsledky
