Original language description

The in-situ leaching of uranium in the Stráž deposit, Northern Bohemia, was based on the injection of technological solutions containing sulfuric acid into underground layers of the Cenomanian age. Aiming to control the spreading of the contamination from the Cenomanian into Turonian aquifer, which serves as the water source for a large populated area, it is necessary to describe also the potential transport of contaminants from the layer of fucoid sandstone. The complex laboratory program based on thestarting experimental results was proposed with the aim the characteristics of transport and geochemical processes running in the fucoid sandstone stratum.

Czech description

Chemická těžba uranu na ložisku Stráž p. Ralskem byla prováděna vtláčením technologických roztoků obsahujících kyselinu sírovou do zvodnělých podzemních vrstev cenomanského stáří. Cenomanská zvodeň je přes vrstvu izolátoru porušeného převážně minulou vrtnou činností schopna přetoky kontaminovat výše ležící turonský kolektor obsahující velké zásoby kvalitních vod využívaných pro zásobování obyvatelstva. Na základě provedených úvodních experimentů byl navržen následný komplexní laboratorní program k přípravě dat pro charakterizaci transportních a geochemické procesů ve fukoidových pískovcích.
