Setup consisting of a Pb/U assembly irradiated by 2.52 GeV deuterons
Original language description
"Energy plus Transmutation" is an international project that studies spallation reactions and the following neutron transport in a thick lead target surrounded by subcritical natural uranium blanket. This setup was formerly irradiated by protons with energies from 0.7 GeV up to 2 GeV and a lot of experimental data was gained. These data were confronted with simulations done in MCNPX code. Experimental results discussed in this paper come from experiment with 2.52 GeV deuterons. This experiment took place in November 2005 on Nuclotron accelerator in JINR Dubna, Russia. Rising neutron field was measured at different places using Al, Au, Ta, In, Y, and Bi foils. Activated foils were measured on HPGe detector and yields of selected isotopes were calculatedwith the respect to all necessary corrections.
