Calculation of responses and analysis of experimental data for silicon gamma spectrometer
Original language description
Silicon detector for spectrometry gamma was tested for photon energy interval up to 10 MeV. Relatively low sensitivity and radiation tolerance for neutrons makes this system perspective for gamma spectrometry in the mixed neutron gamma fields. Responsesof this spectrometry system were simulated using Monte Carlo method (MCNPX code). Results were compared with the corresponding experimental data (isotopic radiation sources 137Cs, 60Co, 22Na and gamma line 4.43 MeV from Am-Be source). Using the best fitthe set of energy deposition spectra for given detection system, two experimental arrangements (beam parallel and perpendicular to detector axis) and energy interval from 20 keV up to 10 MeV were calculated. Model responses of detection system were simulated using convolution of energy deposition spectra with detection system resolution function. Detection system response matrix was constructed from simulated responses. Different methods of data processing and unfolding were tested.
