  • Original language description

    The compact mid-infrared room temperature operating Dy:PbGa2S4 laser, excited by diode pumped Nd:YAG laser at wavelength 1318 nm, was realized. Energy up to 90 ?J and mean output power 1.8mW were obtained at wavelength 4290nm with slope efficiency of 3%in terms of absorbed pumping energy. This first demonstration of efficient Dy:PbGa2S4 excitation using a low pumping rates source with pumping power amplitude in Watt level is promising for a future development of directly diode pumped Dy:PbGa2S4 lasers.
