Diagnostic Improvement of Laser System at NRIAG SLR Station in Helwan
Original language description
We have designed, developed and tested measuring system for diagnosing parameters of laser system located at NRIAG Satellite Laser Ranging station in Helwan. The on-site laser pulse diagnostic will improve the data yield of the station and its contribution to space science and geodesy. The basic principle of measurement of system is an intensity autocorrelation measuring method. The main control unit core is fully programmable on hardware level using complex programmable logic device and programmable microcontroller. The USB interfaced control unit has two operating modes. First is a simple standalone mode with simple operation without requirement of any additional device. The second mode is a slave mode intended for more complex operation controlled by software running on the personal computer.
