Important Aspects of Thorium Fuel Utilisation in Nuclear Reactors

  • Original language description

Thorium fuel cycle is a viable alternative to conventional uranium fuel. Both fertile and fissile isotopes have better nuclear characteristics in thermal energy range than similar isotopes in uranium fuel cycle. Thorium fuel, depending on supporting fissile material, limits or completely prevents minor actinides production.
