Numerical Tests on Acoustic Emission Localizing Techniques for Anodized Aluminium Watering Can
Original language description
This paper deals with the Acoustic Emission principle, which is a Nondestructive Testing method for structural monitoring and many other applications. We deal with the precise geodetic localization of the defects on surfaces of solid bodies mathematically described as a conjunction of several simpler parametric shapes with underlying mutual intersection areas. We use the Newton-Raphson procedure and we propose a few algorithmic improvements such as the holes and the so called condensed localizations. For initializing of the iterative numeric computation we employ A-star mesh based algorithm. The whole algorithm is employed to achieve quick and exact localization of the virtual Acoustic Emission Source on anodized aluminium watering can.
