Stimulated Raman Scattering of 18 Picosecond Laser Pulses in Strontium Barium Niobate Crystal
Original language description
Stimulated Raman scattering in the strontium barium niobate SrxBa1-xNb2O6 (SBN x = 0.61) crystal under 18 ps laser pumping at 1064 nm was observed for the first time. Effective Raman oscillation was achieved at the first Stokes Raman component (at the wavelength of 1143 nm) and also at the second Stokes component (at the wavelength of 1230 nm) corresponding to the frequency shift of 640 cm-1. The steady-state Raman gain coefficient was calculated to be 0.42 cm/GW. The Raman oscillation at the wavelengthof 1134 nm corresponding to the frequency shift of 580 cm-1 and also the multistage Raman oscillation at short frequency shift of 92 cm-1 in other pump orientations were observed too.
