Use of burnable absorbers leads to decrease of initial fuel reactivity for transport and storage of fresh fuel. Moreover it helps to suppress excess of reactivity at the beginning of fuel cycle. This paper covers influence of Gd2O3 burnable absorber, which is used at NPP Dukovany, Czech Republic, on the multiplication factor and maximal relative pin power.
