Divergence Decision Trees Used for D0 FNAL Particle Signal Separations
Original language description
We deal with the new statistical classification method called Divergence Decision Tree (DDT), which links together the basic k-means classification and statistical phi-divergence measures as a decision criterion. K-means as a part of the DDT has severaldisadvantages, therefore other simple methods, e.g. fuzzy classifier, can be incorporated. Several versions of the DDT algorithm differing in the type of phi-divergences used are tested on data sets coming from single top quark decay channels measured within D0 experiment at Tevatron accelerator in FNAL.
