    Temperature dependence of spectroscopic characteristics as well as laser properties of the bulk Bridgman-grown Fe:ZnSe and Fe,Cr:Zn1-xMgxSe (x = 0.19, 0.38) active media were investigated under room and various cryogenic ? liquid nitrogen - temperature .The pumping was provided by Er:YAG laser radiation at the wavelength of 2.94 ?m, with energy 15 mJ in 110 ns Q-switched pulse or 200 mJ in 220 ?s free-running pulse. The 55 mm long hemispherical resonator was formed by a dichroic pumping mirror (T = 92% @ 2.94 ?m and R = 100% @ 4.5 ?m) and a concave output coupler (R = 95 % @ 4.5 ?m, r = 200 mm). A strong dependence of generated output radiation parameters on temperature was observed for all samples.
